Two-stage compressors of the A-II series. In such compressors, the air temperature at the inlet of the second stage is reduced by means of an oil intensive cooling system. The air is subjected to adiabatic compression. The compression ratio at each stage is significantly less than if only one stage were used. This makes it possible to significantly reduce the back leakage of air between the rotors, increase the volumetric and adiabatic efficiency of the compressor and, consequently, its performance. The performance of a two-stage compressor is 15% higher than that of a single-stage one. Accordingly, energy savings of up to 15% are possible.
